Not Just For Us, With Us!
On October 6, 2024, approximately 575 BUILD leaders attended the standing room only BUILD action at Macedonia Baptist Church continuing our march toward One Baltimore.
Along with MD Housing Secretary Jake Day, Mayor Brandon Scott, and Mark Anthony Thomas, CEO of the Greater Baltimore Committee, we gathered to celebrate the $1.3 billion in public money that has already been allocated to address the vacancy crisis in Baltimore.
We also heard stories from different communities throughout the city recognizing the work that remains, and that, to successfully end the vacancy crisis in Baltimore once and for all, BUILD, the state, the city, and the business community must commit to:
- Shared leadership;
- Shared values including community led development without displacement; and,
- Specific & transparent goals, benchmarks, and timelines.
