At BUILD, we believe in relational power—that the more we are connected to each other in our communities, the more ability we have to get things done. When you become a member of BUILD, we will work alongside you to listen to the concerns of your neighbors and identify and develop leaders who will address problems by breaking them down into issues that can be acted upon.

BUILD acts on issues with people, not for people. That’s why we listen to communities, identify and develop leaders out of those communities, and work alongside them to achieve our interests. The concerns and priorities of communities in Baltimore City evolve over time, and as result, BUILD acts on many different issues at different times.

Currently, BUILD is focused on 4 primary issue areas:

1. Housing & Vacancies
2. Policing & Public Safety
3. Jobs & Employment
4. Youth Opportunities & Education

For more than 40 years, we’ve invested our time and energy in rebuilding city blocks and neighborhoods, pushing for schools that engage and educate, and standing up for better jobs and more opportunities for young people.
